If you created a new wallet with a POAP nickname when reserving your POAP, you can use that same account in any other self-custodial wallet app, like Rainbow or MetaMask.
This guide shows you how to export your wallet’s private key and import it into Rainbow wallet, so you can manage the same address there.
Step 1: Find your “new account” email
Search your inbox for an email from: app@poap.io with subject: “Congratulations on your new account!”. You’ll receive this email when you first create your account. This contains your wallet address.
Step 2: Open your account info page
In the same email, scroll down and click “See account info”. This will take you directly to your account page, where you can begin the export process.
Step 3: Wallet export options
On your account info page find “How to move your account to another wallet”. Click to expand this section - it contains the options:
- Get Rainbow Wallet
- Get private keys
- Read instructions
Step 4: Verify your email and get private keys
After selecting “Get private keys” enter your email and verify it using the code sent to your inbox.
You’ll see your private key, save this securely. It is VERY IMPORTANT YOU DO NOT SHARE THESE KEYS WITH ANYONE.
Step 5: Set up your new wallet
Click “Read instructions” to open the Rainbow Wallet website.
